Our Story

Prairie.Bike LLC was founded in 2020 when Nathan Jung, the owner of Continental Cyclery, announced that he was closing the shop after 37 years of honest bicycle service to the south central Kansas community. We seized the opportunity and started a mobile bike repair business.

That was during the COVID Pandemic, selling bikes was extremely difficult. Many bikes still needed repairs however, and Prairie.Bike grew quickly throughout the next two years.

Chevy Trailblazer with Wooden Pull out drawer and bike tools

Operating out of an old Chevy Trailblazer on a homemade pull out drawer, Prairie.Bike would call on people’s houses, and could fix one to five bikes at a time without the need to haul the bikes to a shop.

Then in 2022, the trailblazer was hit by a tornado, and operations had to pause while a the search was made for a new vehicle.

In 2023, Ivan boosted sales in a Tacoma. At the end of the year, he decided to seize an opportunity to settle down into a physical location at 2721 E Central Ave Ste 117 Wichita, KS 67214

About the Owner

Hi, I’m Ivan. Cycling has been one of my favorite hobbies since I was 10 years old. I love mountain biking the most, but I also love exploring the streets of Wichita and the surrounding gravel roads.

Riding brings me joy, and I want other people to experience joy while riding too, without mechanical trouble. So here’s what I do and why I do it.

  1. Fixing all bikes. No matter what you ride, you should get the same thorough quality repair so you can have peace of mind. It doesn’t matter if your bike cost $100 or $10k.
  2. Helping all people. Bikes are for all people, no one should be turned away. If I can’t get what you need, I will do my best to find someone who can.
  3. Nerd out on the Tech. Bicycles are complicated, and not all products are equal. I love keeping up on the best products that can keep you riding longer, faster, and easier. If you love that too, I’m happy to talk, but I’m also happy to worry about it so you don’t have to.
